Rashid Ghazi is the President and Co-Founding Partner of Paragon Marketing Group. He joined the agency during its infancy in 1998 and assumed the role of President in June, 2021. A 33 year industry veteran and entrepreneur, Rashid started his career in the Media Department at Leo Burnett and then worked at Intersport Television before ultimately joining Paragon as a Co-Founding Partner. He oversees an agency of 90 employees along with 1,800+ brand ambassadors across the country that specialize in sponsorship marketing, event creation, content production and social media.
Over the past 20 years Paragon clients have included such notable brands as: Gatorade, ESPN, PNC, Lexus, Nature Valley, United Airlines, Chipotle, Nike, GEICO, Zenni, U.S. Marines, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, UC Healthcare, PPG Paints, Dick’s Sporting Goods and PepsiCo.
Rashid is a pioneer in the creation and broadcast of live televised high school sports programming starting with Lebron James’ memorable high school game against Oak Hill Academy on ESPN2 in 2002. Since that time, he has delivered over 800 live high school sports contests for broadcast across ESPN Networks providing a first glimpse of future NCAA, NBA, and NFL stars such as Kevin Durant, Tim Tebow and Jayson Tatum to a national television audience. He also developed the first nationally sanctioned post-season event series in high school sports and oversees a content team for @sportscenternext, a youth based social platform recently launched by ESPN. Overall, Rashid has developed over 5,000 hours of live and taped television programming in his professional career with his programs featured on numerous cable and broadcast networks as well in syndication.
In addition to his content and event creation experience, Rashid is an expert consultant for corporations and brands looking to engage through sponsorship marketing. He has negotiated and activated partnerships on behalf of numerous Fortune 500 clients with properties such as the PGA TOUR, NHL, NCAA, United States Ski & Snowboard Association , USA Hockey, US Soccer Federation, and Vail Resorts,.
In 2020, Rashid launched the National Interscholastic Basketball Conference and serves as its Commissioner. It is the first national high school basketball conference and features ten teams including Monteverde Academy (FL), Oak Hill Academy (VA), La Lumiere School (IN), AZ Compass Prep School (AZ) and IMG Academy (FL). In its inaugural season all conference games were televised across the ESPN Networks and featured a strong collection of marketing partners including the U.S. Marines, GEICO, Chipotle, General Motors and Gatorade.
Rashid also directed the documentary film FORDSON: Faith, Fasting, Football, which received national distribution via AMC Theatres in 2011 and won numerous awards including Best U.S. Documentary at Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival. He most recently invented and published AMPTHAT, a sports highlights editing app currently available on Apple IOS operating system.
Rashid received his BA in Business and Sociology from the University of Redlands (CA) where he also served as Student Body President and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University (IL). He currently serves as Chairman of the IQRA Educational Foundation and as a Board Member at his high school alma mater, North Shore Country Day. He lives in Glenview, Illinois with his wife, Ruhma, and their four children. In his free time Rashid enjoys golfing, fantasy football, podcasts and attending his kids soccer games.
