Chris Giles is the Founder & CEO of FanRally, a privilege management platform for teams & artists. Chris is credited with creating the first "Sports as a Service" subscription membership model in sports, A’s Access. FanRally’s platform enables teams to replace outdated ticket bundles with modern privilege-based subscriptions.
Prior to FanRally, Chris was the COO of the Oakland A’s. He was responsible for managing all business operations functions for the club, including sales, corporate partnerships, marketing, PR, HR, technology, stadium operations, finance, & administration.
While at the A’s, Giles launched the revolutionary membership model, A’s Access, which nearly tripled the club’s membership base & has become the gold standard for subscription models throughout professional sports.
Prior to joining the A’s, Giles was the head of sales & marketing for the NFL’s On Location Experience, overseeing sales & marketing efforts for Super Bowl LI. In 2015, Giles served as the San Francisco 49ers’ Vice President of Sales & Strategy. In this role, Giles was instrumental in successfully launching Levi’s Stadium, overseeing sales, major & private events, tours, concessions, & retail.
He also led the 49ers’ strategic planning & business intelligence division, providing internal strategy & data analytics consulting & building new businesses on behalf of the team. He spearheaded the efforts to develop & launch the Levi’s Stadium Technology platform, a technologically enhanced game day experience that is influencing sports venues across North America & around the world. He later developed the business plan to spin off the technology, creating the company VenueNext.
At the Pac-12 Network & Conference, Giles managed sponsorship & network advertising sales efforts & worked to expand the conference membership to 12. He worked closely with Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott to negotiate a $3B licensed media rights deal with Fox & ESPN & to secure initial distribution agreements for the Pac-12 Network.
Giles was named to the 2018 class of Forty Under 40 for Diablo Magazine. He is a lecturer at the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Fresno State & an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at the University of California.
